PROGRAMME
Digital Services
The expansion of digital technologies, including digital IDs, has led to an unprecedented collection and sharing of personal data by governments and private entities. However, many citizens remain unaware of how their data is used, their rights, or the mechanisms available to hold institutions accountable. At LDRI, we are committed to bridging this gap by working with key stakeholders to promote transparency, responsible data practices, and citizen engagement in AI and data governance.
By developing engagement frameworks that support clear and consistent communication between institutions and citizens, we help organizations ensure compliance with data protection laws while empowering individuals—especially marginalized groups—to understand and assert their digital rights.
Through collaborating with governments, private sector entities, and civil society to co-design policies, guidelines, and public participation platforms that enhance accountability in AI and data governance, we aim to create inclusive, rights-based systems where citizens have the knowledge and tools to influence data policies that impact their lives.
We are currently Implementing this programme in Kenya and Zambia.
